There are words I long to speak
To express the things I wish to say
But somehow God I always fail
My vocabulary is inadequate
My language too limited
Too express my love in a proper way.
I quote the words of other men
Bards & poets, saints of old
I mimic their beauty of expression
Strive to capture their emotion
And make it my own
But I feel so phoney. impassive, cold.
But now I catch a closer glimpse
A little better I begin to know
No longer do I strain and struggle
For words that don't exist.
I simply smile into your face, I love you God."
And You smile back - "I know you do."
