Repentance of the Prodigal

Lord Jesus I am running back to you
Where once your holy presence I once knew
The other side I wanted Lord to see
And now I know there's nothing there for me.

Chorus
I tasted of its wine but it grew bitter on my lips
I tasted off its joys they left empty
I rushed into this life so different from the life I knew
Now precious Lord I'm running home to you.

I know your arms are opened wide to greet me
The prodigal all ragged, tired & worn
Why should I live on husks when there is feasting
In darkness while your house is bright and warm.

There's nothing in this world of sinful pleasures
Than can compare with living close to you,
I know I've been a fool to ever wander
Restore to me the place that I once knew.
